Scrapbook Boutique April Blog Hop and Challenge

Welcome once again to Scrapbook Boutique's monthly challenge and blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Angela's amazing blog but if you didn't and want to start at the beginning, just click on the SBB blog link above and start again!

Now to the housekeeping part - if you want to create something or just join in to win, there are two ways you can participate in this challenge and have a chance to win a prize.  You can comment on each blog, ending with the SBB blog, or you can create a project (either a card, scrapbook layout or off the page project) inspired by this photo.  Of course you can do both for a chance to win both prizes!  Please check out the rules of entry, and the prizes at the Scrapbook Boutique Blog and note that this challenge is open to Australian  and New Zealand residents.

So what will you make inspired by these soft pastel colours?  I was thinking Easter, so this is what I came up with.

I have made a clean and simple card (again) - firstly dry embossing a panel to fit my top fold card front, then sponged Distress Inks in pastel colours over another white panel.  I had noticed how many 'rectangles' were in the inspiration photo, so wanted to incorporate that element, as well as the obvious colour choices.  I don't own stitched rectangles in the size I required, so I custom cut some from the smaller rectangles I do own.  If you're not sure what I mean this is what I did:  I chose a die the correct width (height) but wrong length - so made sure my top plate was not over the edge that was too short.  I rolled it through my Big Shot, leaving only part of the rectangle cut.  I took the piece out, turned the die around - lining up the stitching and cut edge, placed the top platform only over the remaining section to be cut, and ran it through again.  Voila - a custom-sized rectangle!

I used a little bit of paper piecing on my bunnies (MFT Snuggle Bunnies stamp set)  - ear and jumpers - but mostly used Copic cool greys to colour their bodies.  I fussy cut them out and mounted them on the rectangles with foam tape.  I love that the images are all looking in different directions - it makes it easy to group them!

I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge - each month the entries are just amazing and we love to see how everyone seems to take something unique from the mood board.

Now you should hop on over to Linda's fantastic blog!

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
