Valentines Day is approaching

Yes, I know the year has only just started, but it seems before we know it, we will be thinking love and hearts - and why not, I say?  For Christmas, I was given some card blanks by a friend, and they had heart shapes cut out (similar to what you could do with a Silhouette Cameo - hint hint) so I made some CAS Valentines Day cards with those.  The photo doesn't show it, but for the top card I highlighted the centre heart, plus the little ones, with glossy accents - I love that product.  I used glossy accents to adhere the plastic charm in the bottom card, too, after a sticky dot then hot glue gun failed!



But before we actually reach Valentines Day, there are more birthdays to celebrate.  The next card I made for a friend and I thought with strawberries so delicious and in season at this time, this image would be appropriate.  I know it might look a little fussy, with all the patterns, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway - I'd love to know if you think it works.

Something Shiny

We all love shiny things I think, so this week's challenge at Less is More is a JOY!  Here is my card, which will add to my Christmas stash. Hard to see the shine, but the next view might be better. I die cut the Joy to the World Wreath by Cheery Lyn, and inlaid it back into the white card front.  It seems to suit the CAS style better this way.  The shiny sentiment is cut from silver mirror card, mounted to self adhesive foam - as you can see in the shiny photo - no messy glue to spoil the effect! While visiting the LIM blog, I realised that my card would also qualify for the current  Muse challenge.   This is the first time I have entered, so here are their rules: Use  the inspiration card as a starting point - strictly speaking, I found my card fits the criteria after I had made it, but the links are - metallic sentiment, scattered berries, and a stitched border to frame the panel. Wonderful News

The challenge at LIM this week is to use washi - how lucky for me that yesterday I tried CASEing a card I saw on Etsy which used a single wooden button on a small notecard.  I didn't use a wooden button, but a die I've had for ages, with WASHI on cardstock - - woo hoo! So I'm ready early today - Sunday morning here in Australia, with temps in the 30s! Cardstock cut 18cm x 9cm for a top fold 9 x 9cm (3.5" x 3.5") Stamp is a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft Issue 165 - love the fonts Die is by Simon Says Stamp - Partial Cut Flowers Button die is a set of 3 by Joy! Crafts Washi - unknown origin but printed cloth tape about 1.5 inches wide Below are a couple more cards I made using washi.
